The teleoperation system uses wireless IMU modules to capture human movement and utilizes IK algorithms to transform those motions into robot motor actuations. - Significantly improved teleoperation performance with respect to precision, speed, scalability, and comfort - The teleoperation system was used to generate 10,000+ datasets for AI training representing thousands of hours of system use - Inventor on provisional patent filed for this technology - Demonstrated and explained the teleoperation system to VCs looking to invest in the company - Used quaternions, rotation matrices, and kinematic analysis to calibrate the seven 6DOF IMUs and to find the IK solution to control the robot using human motion - Designed the full system architecture and wrote the C++ firmware as well as the python code• Member of a small technical team of experts that deployed the robot in a strategic partners factory environment.• Developed a custom hardware interface between the universal worker robot’s 40 servo motors and the Linux host. Used an ESP32 microcontroller to communicate with the computer using Ethernet and communicated with the servos using a UART/RS-485 connection. - Increased the robot’s read+write refresh rate by 4x - Developed the C++ firmware to communicate with both the Ethernet and UART connections - Developed the python code to interface with the existing codebase on the Linux computer - Debugged the system using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers• Collaborated with the Lead Electrical Engineer to redesign the robot’s electrical and sensor system.• Created the design and project plan for a hardware system that reads multiple sensor streams using I2C, SPI, and ADC’s, bundle the data and send it over Ethernet to the Linux computer 4x faster than the previous system.

Autonomous Car Racing Lead Engineer
Lead a group of 10 UCSC students to write C++ ROS code on Linux that allows a one-tenth scale electric car to autonomously race around any track using onboard LIDAR information processing. The team is working on implementing algorithms of varying complexity, starting with simple wall/line following and working our way up to following the gap or a pure pursuit algorithm. As a team leader I delivered presentations to faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students to acquire mentors, members, and fundingI was also a member of the underwater ROV team which competes in a competition hosted by MATE. For the mechanical team, I designed and 3D printed mechanical parts for an underwater ROV using Solidworks and Cura. For the software team, I wrote the C software for the ROV using an API to process Xbox controller information to generate the PWM strings for the motors to fire and get five degrees of freedom in motion. During the summer of 2019, I was fortunate enough to be a part of the team that took the ROV to the International Competition in Tennessee.
