I manage the strategic relationships for the Africell Group across the four the OpCos in Angola, DRC, the Gambia and Sierra Leone. This includes our close relationships across various agencies of the US government.I also manage and support the relationships with the local governments in the countries where we operate, which incorporates significant telecoms infrastructure investments in fiber optics and cell towers. My remit also includes the Lobito Corridor project for Africell, which is the development of rail and telecommunications infrastructure in Angola, DRC and Zambia. The Lobito Corridor is a highly strategic initiative which counts on significant support from the US government and European Union where transport of critical minerals is achieved in a more efficient manner. The Lobito Corridor is the biggest investment in Southern Africa by both the USA and EU and Africell is an integral part of one of the most important projects across these countries because it encompasses the economic and telecommunications development in rural areas. Africell through its mobile money solution, Afrimoney, is also very relevant for the communities along the Lobito Corridor as it will bring financial inclusion to those people who never had access to banking.
