Provides legal representation for the State of Indiana and its agencies, public officials, and employees before state and federal courts. Duties consist of motions practice, brief writing, and in-court appearances to both enforce and defend statutes, rules, and regulatory action. Regularly conducts and responds to discovery, takes and defends depositions, and drafts dispositive motions. Majority of cases involve judicial reviews, injunctive work (both initiating and defending), enforcement actions, tax cases, constitutional cases, and general civil litigation. Utilizes extensive background in oral advocacy at evidentiary hearings and oral arguments before both state and federal courts. Has served as lead counsel on over 200 cases. Often work closely with the Solicitor General's Section, litigating complex and significant state and federal constitutional cases. Completed rigorous I-DAG Program prior to joining AREL. In 2020, returned to Program as an I-DAG supervisor and mentor (supervising one I-DAG each year).As of 2021, now manages the law clerk program for AREL. Supervises hiring, assignment of work, and training of law clerks. Also provides general trainings to all law clerks at the OAG, particularly as it relates to advanced research methods. As of 2022, serve as lead attorney for the tax practice group.

Part of a specialized training initiative for new hires to the OAG, the Intensive Deputy Attorney General ("I-DAG") program; the I-DAG initiative focuses on litigation practice and experience. Worked alongside other I-DAGs and Deputy Attorney Generals (DAGs), taking cases from nearly all sections of the OAG. As part of the program, conducted a small claims trial, multiple trials-by-affidavit, and several Proceedings Supplemental hearings. Litigated before the Nursing Board. Filed numerous litigation-related motions and briefs, including a brief in opposition to certiorari filed before the United States Supreme Court.

Served on the Executive Board alongside another Senior Managing Editor. Duties included reviewing the editing reports of Managing Editors (who review 2L Associates) and ensuring all authors' citations comply with the Bluebook and, to the extent applicable, the Chicago Manual of Style. As a Member of the Executive Board, I also performed final proofreading (grammar and spelling) of articles prior to publication.

Anderson University

In the form a $900 scholarship, I was selected to be the Vice President of Competition for AU's Enactus business team for the 2014-2015 competitive season. Enactus is an organization that hosts business competitions across the world that showcase student-created business plans from various universities. My responsibility as a part of AU's Enactus team was essentially to function as a speech coach and teach the Enactus students how best to present themselves and their work at the Enactus National Competition in St. Louis in May of 2015. I was approached by AU business faculty and offered this position due to my significant public speaking experience. The position entailed weekly meetings, speech drills, and one-on-one mentoring among other duties to develop the speaking skills of the AU Enactus presentation team. I participated as a member of the speech team when we presented at the National Competition.

Assisted Dr. Daniel Ippolito of Anderson University in conducting his BIOL 2210 and BIOL 1000 laboratories. Tasks include grading, answering questions, and preparing the lab for activities or lab examinations.

Worked directly for the city attorney of Anderson, Indiana: Ashley Hopper, J.D., LLM. Responsibilities included office work, drafting letters, conducting legal research, and other miscellaneous tasks. Also assisted as needed with other city departments. Those departments included, among others, the Mayor's Office, the Board of Public Works, and the Fire and Police Departments.

Carmel, In

Planned, organized, and implemented a calling campaign to reach constituents new to Indiana Senate District 29. Over 4,000 calls were made. Responsibilities included obtaining and tabulating data, recruiting volunteers, tracking progress, making calls, and updating Senator Delph. Project was completed on time in November 2013.Also functioned as a campaign intern, addressing varying tasks such as campaign organization, website design and improvement, and grassroots campaign work.

Kane Dining Room, Anderson University, Anderson, In

Conceived, planned, coordinated, and subsequently implemented the inaugural prolife event of Anderson University's history. Roughly 42 people attended the 3-hour, fully-catered dinner featuring nationally-recognized prolife speaker Michael Spencer of the Life Training Institute. Other key persons spoke as well, including a congressional district staffer appearing on behalf of Indiana Representative Susan Brooks (R-5th district), an AU professor of Biology, and the Chair of the History and Political Science Department of AU.

Head research and debate instructor for Indiana Praise--a Stoa League Speech and Debate club for Indiana. Approximate size of club is 15-20 persons. Responsibilities include critiquing debate cases, providing speaker feedback, and generally administrating the club. Also serve, annually, as the chief Rooms Coordinator and Devotional Speaker for the Indiana Crossroads Cup speech and debate tournament hosted by Indiana Praise each year in Fall/Spring.

This class and the camps both contributed to the completion of my Congressional Gold Award service hours.
