With extensive recent operational experience in the management of critical incidents and firearms command, I have the credibility to professionally commentate and support clients through the Post Incident Process and beyond. I have a strong academic interest in cognitive performance in relation to decision making under pressure that Senior Investigating Officers face and regularly present on this topic. I am in the process of completing a Masters Degree in Criminology and would like to continue my studies beyond this.

Course Developer and delivery of the Road Policing Investigation Managers Course (Commonly referred to as the Roads Policing Senior Investigators Course). The course is a two week interactive course that provides students with the academic competence to enable them to investigate category 'A' to 'D' Fatal road traffic collisions. The course is followed up with a practical portfolio of work that is formally assessed against the College of Policing required standards. I have also developed and delivered the Roads Policing Fatal and Serious Collision Reviewers Course. This course was devised to meet the requirements of Authorised Policing Practice in respect of the need to professionally review investigations. Both courses have been successfully delivered to a large number of Roads Policing investigators throughout the North East Region.

This included, but was not limited to, Homicides, Crimes in action, pursuit management and multi agency responses to declared Major incidents. As a qualified and experienced Tactical Firearms Commander I commanded a large number of dynamic and high profile armed incidents.I am able to sift large volumes of information whilst under pressure and am both capable and comfortable making command decisions in that climate.

Seconded to the United Nations Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina from Northumbria Police and worked within a SFOR J2 NATO staffed intelligence team.I performed a number of roles including the investigation of corruption, people smuggling and the review of serious category crimes. I was actively involved in the gathering of intelligence from a wide variety of sources to support prosecutions into war crimes.
