With 30 years of policing experience both in the UK and overseas, Bob has a proven history of reviewing complex investigations that provide an insightful and detailed synopsis for defence teams. Previously the senior Lead Roads Policing Investigating Officer with Northumbria Police until his recent retirement he has extensive experience in managing serious crime investigations including parallel investigations alongside the IOPC. Bob performed the role of Critical Incident Manager for four years (Tactical Firearms Commander) leading numerous high profile incidents, making critical decisions whilst under extreme pressure.As an experienced trainer, he co-authored the Northumbria Police Roads Policing Investigation Managers and Investigation Review courses he is a confident and engaging presenter. During a secondment to the U.N. International Police Task Force in Bosnia Herzegovina, he conducted several high-profile investigations which included corruption, human trafficking and war crimes. Additionally he had the privilege of managing the establishment of the first Interpol Office in Sarajevo following the conclusion of the conflict. With proven communication and stakeholder engagement skills across both the private and public sectors, he consistently demonstrates the ability to build relationships with people at all levels of seniority to achieve positive outcomes. As an experienced Police Federation representative, he specialised in complex discipline cases and is an experienced practitioner and trained advocate. With extensive experience in the field of the Post Incident Management he has and continues to represent numerous officers as they pass through this difficult time in their career. Outside of work he is a keen cyclist and enjoys ultra-distance Audax events (200km +) and also independent travel to places that are off the beaten track.
