Proprietors Anne and Bob Arns envisioned a small vineyard estate focusing on Bordeaux varietals over 40 years ago. With a keen interest in wine, they were both very inspired by the now famous “Judgment of Paris" tasting that took place in 1976, when California wines were rated above their French counterparts. The Arns look back at that hallmark year as the beginning of their quest to produce world class wine. Established in 1998, Tournesol has produced distinctive wines from their estate vineyards in southeastern Napa. The Proprietor's Blend is a unique, elegant wine that represents the best combination of grape varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Vertot, and Malbec. Tournesol vineyards are located in Napa Valley's Coombsville AVA. This geographical location and terrain create a unique microclimate within the Napa Valley, where Tournesol's 20 acres of vineyards lie on a gently sloping bench 300 feet above the valley floor. The southern edge of the property is bordered by Murphy Creek while the northern edge includes Lake Louise, fed by Witweather Creek. Tournesol vines enjoy a perfect exposure to the sun with cool breezes from San Francisco Bay providing ideal growing temperatures. The volcanic composition of this soil produces muscular Bordeaux varietal wines that express its distinctive terroir.

Adjunct Professor Robert S. Arns teaches trial practice to third year law students. He has practiced trial and appellate law in San Francisco since 1975, specializing in serious injury or death arising out of product failure cases, Federal Employers Liability Act actions, Jones Act actions, construction site incidents, mass torts, medical negligence and other tortuous conduct, as well as class action suits. The Arns Brandi Trial Center at USF will be revealed this year. It is a certificate program that ensures a hiring law firm that the young lawyer has completed seven “practical” classes and the lawyer knows how to take a case to trial from completing necessary discovery, finishing pre-trial prep and motions in limine, becoming an evidence master, giving an opening statement, presenting a case in chief with superb direct and cross-examination skills, and final argument. Tom Brandi and Bob have co-taught the Trial Practice class together for 21 years.He was named Professor of the year in 2012 and 2010, and University of San Francisco School of Law Alumni of the Year in 2009. Arns was also named Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2004 by San Francisco Trial Lawyers and a finalist for Trial Lawyer of the Year by Consumer Attorneys of California in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Arns is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and sits on the executive committee of the Consumer Attorneys of California Board of Governors and the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Board of Directors. He was presenter of ABOTA Masters of Trial on numerous occasions in different venues in California including in 2011 and 2012 – this Masters of Trial is billed as the best of the best lawyers.
