Perform all duties related to automated note processing of currency deposits which includes receiving deposits, signing on the the function's automated system, prepping currency and machinery, processing currency through counting and sorting machines, noting currency rejects for further processing and performing data entry regarding deposit transactions.Ensure that all currency deposits are properly packaged and secured according to standard operating procedures, release fit currency to paying clerks in the Paying and Receiving Division or to the vault for storage.Compile data regarding differences detected during banknote processing (deposit shortages, overages, mixed denominations, counterfeit notes), perform a daily proof of such differences, and notify supervisor of any major discrepancies in currency deposits.Prepare the daily proof of processed currency deposits ensuring that all accounting transactions, as well as the destruction of unfit currency and detection of mixed denominations and counterfeit bills are properly recorded.Verifiy rejected currency through a bill counting machine which separates fit from unfit currency, prepare unfit currency for destruction and detects counterfeit bills.Perform unfit currency destruction duties according to operating procedures.Work closely with supervisory staff regarding proof differences and inquiries, as well as with related Bank areas regarding machine stoppages and currency shipments.Maintain pertinent records, correct minor cash processing machine stoppages, perform clerical duties as required.
