Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, Epidemiology Chapter. Over the years I have tutored applicants for membership, been an examiner as well as Head Examiner, and President of the Chapter.

I enjoy capturing images that display the beauty of creation, particularly wildlife and land- and sea-scapes. However, I also enjoy photographing cityscapes, where I try to bring out the beauty that can be seen amongst the "mundane".

Worked on a number of projects for Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development, including: Conducting a review of their Veterinary Practice Surveillance system for cattle diseases; Helped convene a Simulation Modelling Symposium; Built a simulation model of FMD spread in Alberta using InterSpread Plus to assess the benefits of having a livestock traceability.

Worked at VLA Weybridge. My principal role was documenting the BSE database and making it easier to extract and distribute datasets to researchers. I also worked on a design for a decision support system for responding to Food Safety issues.

Completed a PhD thesis entitled "The development of a decision support system for an animal disease emergency". Out of this research, a number of systems emerged: EpiMAN - a decision support system for FMD and other transboundary infectious diseases;InterSpread - a stochastic, spatial simulation model of FMD;AgriBase - New Zealand's national spatial farm.

Based in Greymouth, on the West Coast of New Zealand. Responsibilities included veterinary oversight of the Bovine Tuberculosis control programme.
