Since joining Mackenzie as an electronic test technician straight out of high school, I can honestly say work here has never been boring. Although sometimes it would be nice to be able to sit back and catch my breath, knowing there is always something new to work on and discover is really where it is at, for me. In my lengthy time here at Mackenzie, I have been provided the opportunity and time to learn the following skills:How to sweep floors (Well)How to pack and ship product (Efficiently)Work in the machine shop (without getting yelled at by the shop foreman)Test, Repair, and QC electronic product (Competently)Design circuitry, layout circuit boards, develop enclosures, and oversee a firmware team (Effectively)Test and document for EMI, EMC, Shock, Vibration, Smoke, Liquid ingress, UL registration (Hesitantly)Qualify, Source, and Procure the components, and subcontracting to produce product (Frugally) Work with and understand customer needs and requirements (Humbly)But one of the most satisfying tasks I get to do is provide new Engineering students an introduction to a professional position, mentoring them technologically, as well as professionally. Being able to share the knowledge and wisdom of the above skills with those that want to learn is priceless.
