I was brought in to assist with the 2011 audit as it pertained to preparing PBC lists, schedules, reconciliations and analysis. The 2011 audit preparation was significantly behind schedule. I worked considerable hours building schedules and preparing reconciliations that hadn't been brought forward from the 2010 audit. I did significant research and data mining in order for the company to be ready for field work by Grant Thornton. Through all of my hard work, the company was able to have their audit report issued in late November.

I was brought in to facilitate the sale and subsequent phase out of Capital Analysts as a Western Southern entity. With little training or supervision, I was able to ramp up quickly and learn the operations and the accounting system. This included coordinating all of the daily functions including commission accounting, monthly close, reconciliations, journal entries, tax compliance and recurring financial reporting responsibilities to the parent (Western Southern) and regulatory reporting (FINRA and NFA). Through my understanding of the operations, I was instrumental in notifying management of the fact that an additional 250+k needed to be paid by the purchaser for certain assets.
