My primary focal point is the economics of food and health, with an emphasis on food safety and security. I am involved in the development of research at the intersection of economics with epidemiology, risk analysis, and public policy. I work on multi-state and transnational teams devoted to reducing illness from microbial contamination of foods. I am also engaged in work that examines other health-related problems, including food security and obesity. I am interested in exploring other areas related to the economics of public health.Teaching:Undergraduate: I utilize a law and economics approach to teach policy-relevant classes that focus on the identification and mitigation of consumer problems.
