After successfully developing version 1.0 of the Authorship Forensics Portal, I have been hired back by Dr. Maiga Chang to enhance its usability and functionality. I will be presenting the AFP and the machine learning methodologies behind my research as one of two finalists in the Smart Learning Ecosystems and Regional Development (SLERD) conference in France. Update: My design and machine learning research surrounding the Authorship Forensics Portal did, in fact, win the SLERD design award.

I am thrilled to be welcomed back for my second USRA with the university. For this four+ month work contract, I will be continuing my research with Dr. Maiga Chang in the field of document authorship forensics relative to human and Generative AI. We will be refining our previous Convolutional Neural Network training models and potentially developing a new, more controlled study, to verify our findings. Finally, I will be creating an, easy to use, front/back system using machine learning methodologies that will allow for easier data submissions and tokenization.

The resulting product that was created here was also a branch of my most recent research project through Athabasca University. Over this one and a half month period I was able to create a fully functioning tool for use as a way to retrieve and store ChatGPT API responses that can be used to help guide parents and students in finding educational and fun activities to engage with. Working with Daniel Fountenberry (the CEO of coteacher.com) and for Dr. Maiga Chang, my research supervisor, I was able to design and build the entire infrastructure of this online tool. This includes all aspects of the back-end and front end development. Working with Daniel to build this first step project for him and his company has been incredibly interesting and exciting.
