I have worked in the electrical industry since 1997. In this time I have worked in all capacities from apprentice to foreman completing my standard based apprenticeship along the way. Between 2004 and 2015 I worked on the commercial side of an electrical utilities engineering contractor dealing with both MV/LV Distribution systems as well as the electrical construction of some of the country’s largest distribution/transmission sub-stations (38kV-220kV). Between 2015 and 2019 I was involved in the management of the business including management of the Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety. During this time the formalisation of the integrated management system occurred with no non-conformances issued throughout the 3yr cycle. In March 2019 I started in a contract role for RECI/ Safe Electric carrying out Audits and Inspections of North Dublin Registered Electrical Contractors. In 2021 I also completed a Level 8 Electrical Engineering Degree with First Class Honours at The Technological University of the Shannon. In 2022 I returned to to O'Hara Engineering Service to takeover the Day to Day running of the business. In 2023 I joined Irish Rail and am currently the assistant to the OHLE Renewals Engineer/Project Manager where approximately 10km of single track OHLE electrification is replaced annually.
