As an Associate Director I oversee between 8-12 residential homes for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Each Home has about three individuals with intellectual disabilities, between 5-7 staff and a manager. Some of the core responsibilities include:- Managing caseload of residential homes for individuals with intellectual disabilities, supervising team of residential support managers and direct support professionals for each home-Conducting plan of action meetings with employees to correct problematic behavior, provide feedback, retraining, and set clear expectations for moving forward-Organizing and conducting various employee trainings-Assisting employees in setting goals and working toward achieving them through education on duties and responsibilities of various positions, as well as helping develop their management abilities-Meeting with state agency service coordinators and acted as liaison between Chrysalis and the State-Reviewing and interviewing potential clients, evaluating individuals needs and assisting in deciding appropriate placement and level of contracted supports-Engaged with parents, guardians, and potential clients to educate them on residential services offered by Chrysalis-Mediating various high stress meetings using creative problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, and effective communication skills-Performing detailed bi-monthly program audits to enhance quality of supports provided to individuals and following up promptly with managers on areas of concern-Working with Utah Department of Health and various city governments to license all homes that have four or more bedrooms by adhering to licensing, federal, state and local regulations-Conducting investigations into policy violations and reporting findings to state agencies with recommendations on best course of action to take-Assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities apply for and receive Section 8 Housing subsidies
