Robert is a consultant at SeggieGeoscience and also Adjunct Professor at Curtin University investigating new lines of research into sedimentary and structural geology. Rob has 41 years experience as a petroleum geologist since graduating with Honours in Applied Geology from the University of NSW. He worked for BHP Petroleum, Oil Company of Australia, Geoscience Australia (BMR) Santos and as a consultant. Most recently he spent 22 years with Woodside Energy as Geology Advisor and now runs his own consultancy. Robert has been a successful explorationist and a development/production geologist. His expertise includes foldbelt exploration, high resolution sequence stratigraphy, hydrodynamics, appraisal co-ordination, development management, independent expert reporting and production geology . For the last 25 years Robert has focussed on applying high resolution core based sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy to reservoir development and exploration. He has run courses in this for AAPG, Nautilus, PESA and SPE. He has published numerous papers, and presented and chaired at conferences. He is a member of AAPG, SEPM, and PESA and has held executive and editorial positions.
