I was there to repeal a NNC from NCDNR regarding a 1200 meter Machine Gun Firing Range that had been targeted to get shut-down by NCDNR. I am a licensed Certified Level I-B Soil and Water Erosion Control Inspector with the authority to enforce the NPDES Act. I used my knowledge, skills and abilities to persuade our subcontractor to "showcase" this project by planting seed, mulch, fixing BMP's and getting vegetation established to prevent the NNC. It was lifted and our site was shown to the visiting Undersecretary of the Navy as the best site on post for Best Management Practices for Erosion control. It was my effort that led to a team attitude adjustment that changed things into a positive way.
