UK based Headquarters control much of the business in Europe and the manufacturing plant in Morocco. The IT department consists of 15 highly skilled staff in various areas, Oracle Developers, UNIX Administrators, DBA’s and Technical Wintel staff. I am part of the Technical Wintel Team and provide support to the UK, Europe and Morocco. There is IT Staff in most sites of which I coordinate with when working on various local projects and who come to me when they need support. Working in a team of four we also have an on-call rota.Responsibilities include Cisco Wireless Network infrastructure, Antivirus monitoring of Clients and Servers, Desktop, Laptop and Server management, total control of the Email System based on Lotus Notes, installation and configuration of the Warehouse Scanning System throughout Europe, Cisco Voice over IP Telephony Management and overall support of staff throughout Europe.During my time at Fruit of the Loom I have been exposed to a number of large projects of which I have been involved in from all levels. I have managed the budget and expenditure of these projects. A number of projects have seen me taking an empty shell and managing the installation all of the cabling, Wired/Wireless Networks, Servers, Computers and IP Telephony Systems to create a fully functional Warehouse and Office environment in Slovenia and Germany. My first major project for Fruit of the Loom was to install a new Warehouse in Slovenia. This involved a detailed level of communication to pull together both external and internal resources from both the UK and Slovenia. Working closely with external software vendors I haveinstigated a number of upgrades and suggested best practices for various technologies.Utilising Group Policy we now have a centrally managed configuration for our Desktop Infrastructure.
