Leading on owner engagement, design, engineering and opening hotels

Responsible for new business development and the health and delivery of our hotel pipeline for all brands in Europe (from UK& Ireland to Russia/CIS/Georgia, Israel, Turkey and North Africa). The team comprises Development, Design & Engineering and New Hotel Openings, working together to achieve high quality distribution growth.The team is geared up to support an owner-investor from prospect through to the opening of a new hotel, with a continuity of service and relationship and a real focus on results and continuous improvement.

Responsible for quality, guest experience, design & engineering and hotel openings, this team's focus was delivering high quality hotels. Through Design & Engineering, we ensured that new hotels were great physical examples of the relevant brand. The Hotel opening team ensured that the owners and their hotel teams were ready to run a great hotel when it opened, including getting the hotel up and running on IHG's powerful platforms and channels.The Guest Experience team launched a new guest feedback tool and measurement system for 'Guest Love', called HeartBeat. Combined with revamped quality evaluations, we were all focused on driving great quality guest experience in all our hotels across the region.My role as leader was to establish a brand new Hotel Openings team and integrate it with the wider team, to oversee the development of the new HeartBeat tool as part of a global initiative working with colleagues in other regions and global functions, ensuring that the requirements of EMEA were integrated and to push for the best global programme results.

New business development, franchised operations, managed operations support across UK & Ireland comprising over 250 hotels.In this role I added responsibility for the franchised business in the UK, reporting to the Managing Director. I learnt a lot and developed a deeper understanding of the business and built very strong relationships with our franchisees in the UK and across EMEA. This business grew significantly in the period through signing new hotels and at a rate of 60% with existing owners based on the strength of the relationships built and support provided.In addition, I added a responsibility for providing some structure and organisation to initiatives being run for the managed estate, to drive performance and alignment.
