I joined Allsop as a graduate surveyor in 1985 and now have overall responsibility for the Business Rates Department.I have a substantial range of experience gained over 38 years in handling rating appeals and providing advice on mitigating rates liabilities.I was Chair of the Rating Surveyors Association Retail Panel for over 10 years and am a past member of the RICS Rating and Local Taxation Policy Panel.I have been responsible for chairing the rate appeal negotiations in many high profile retail locations including Westfield London, Lakeside and Brent Cross. I have been Chair of the Oxford Street rates committee for over 25 years. In 2018 I co-ordinated the establishment of the national network of over 400 committees responsible for challenging the level of rates payable in the main retailing locations in the country.In 1999 I established and have since run the nationwide scheme used by rating agents to identify rate saving situations on shops.
