Robert J. Shilliday III is the owner of Shilliday Law, P.C. where his practice is focused upon representing both debtors and creditors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases, litigation, business reorganizations, out-of-court workouts, and other insolvency issues. Mr. Shilliday has successfully guided many individuals and business entities through Chapter 7 liquidations and reorganizations under Chapters 11 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. He has also successfully represented clients in numerous trial and litigation matters, including breach of contract, fraud, fraudulent conveyance, business dissolution, and employment discrimination in both state and federal courts throughout the United States Mr. Shilliday obtained his law degree with honors from the University of Minnesota School of Law and received his bachelor’s degree, with distinction, from the University of Georgia. He was a member of the Minnesota Law Review and served as the law clerk for the Honorable Samuel L. Bufford, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. Mr. Shilliday also served as an Assistant Attorney General in the State of Colorado and was General Counsel for a Denver-based pre-engineered steel building manufacturer. Mr. Shilliday is admitted to practice law in California and Colorado and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute. He frequently publishes and lectures on bankruptcy, insolvency, litigation, and ethics issues and is a co-author of the Annual Survey of Colorado Law for the Colorado Bar Association.
