He is a media manager at Amnesty International Southern African regional office where he oversees strategic positioning of the regional office in the media, including media planning, coaching and training spokespeople on media engagement skills, writing media outputs and media strategies, building and maintaining relations with the media and handling crisis communication and other public phasing work.I have led successful global media campaigns with demonstrable impact on human rights issues such as the need for justice for the killing of 34 mineworkers at Marikana in 2012, delivery of justice for the killing of people with albinism in Malawi, excessive use of pretrial detention in Madagascar and speaking out against injustice in Zimbabwe over the years.Robert is a regular contributor to the Mail&Guardian, writing about governance, foreign policy, human rights and other global issues.
