Came to BRO as part of the Technical Customer Services staff supporting the ASAP software. Have held a variety of positions within the company including Technical Sales Manager developing software demonstrations in both ASAP and APEX for particular vertical markets and acting as technical point of contact for new and existing customers.I'm now fully a part of the Engineering Services staff at BRO as Senior Optical Engineer handling business development for new and existing customers, as well as, performing direct contract work across a variety of optical disciplines but primarily focused on illumination design using LED's, HID, filament, and thermal sources. Recent work has been widely varied from aircraft interior lighting and surgical theater and entertainment lighting to solar energy concentration and chemical sensing applications.

Hired as principal optical engineer to assist development of tiled display systems for control room and similar applications. The group was primarily an R&D staff focused on patentable technology development in seamless multi-projector displays, image compression, and associated electronics.

Principal optical engineer for the Micropac miniature spectrometer involved in all aspects of optical, mechanical and sensor electronics design. Worked extensively with internal staff and external customers to bring the product to market and received (2) patents for improvements to the initial design. Traveled extensively to industry tradeshows and specific customers in support of product marketing and sales.Moved to an internal display team that developed DLP and LCOS displays for the rear projection television markets. Worked with TI to correctly integrate their DLP control boards into the product and performed a variety of performance testing which became the basis for a fully automated production test system. Traveled to Asia and worked extensively with contract manufacturer personnel to build an integration and test facility for production systems. Also traveled extensively as part of marketing and sales efforts to demonstrate displays at tradeshows and for specific customers.

Was initially in charge of procuring a variety of large optics for the THEL program, an early successful demonstration of a mobile HEL countermeasures laser system. Subsequently performed laser system design and analysis for ABL and developed a complex 3D resonator alignment simulation program whose predictions were ultimately used for the alignment control system hardware. Very disappointed to hear the program was ultimately cancelled.

Began my career studying diamond thin films. Worked with an internal team to design and build a CVD deposition lab to deposit diamond films on a variety of substrates with subsequent characterization using Raman and infrared spectroscopies, as well as, SEM and a number of tribology tools. Ultimately shifted to a much larger group studying high energy lasers where I worked on several teams doing everything from concept lab experiments to writing simulation software, and ultimately, integrating and aligning large optics for a long path HEL system.
