The youngest director ever to receive Bavaria’s Best New Director Award, given to him in 1989, for his first feature-length film "LAURIN", which even today enjoys a cult-like following. Since then he has collected vast international experience and directed several acclaimed productions, such as "LEXX", "HEPZIBAH", "STELLA STELLARIS", "SCHOOL'S OUT 1 & 2" a.o., in Canada, France, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic. Some of his works, like LEXX, have sold world-wide into more than 100 territories, from New Zealand to South Africa. He has received numerous development funding grants for his projects and screenplays from several European countries and he has worked for U.S. networks Showtime and SciFi Channel with stars like Malcolm McDowell and Eleanor Tomlinson (female lead in the Bryan-Singer-blockbuster "JACK THE GIANT SLAYER"). Three-time Oscar winning composer, Howard Shore, is going to provide the soundtrack for Sigl’s upcoming production, "THE SPIDER." Casting director will be John Hubbard, Malcolm McDowell and Michael Brando are going to be among the leads.
