RS attended university in Paris where he obtained a degree in Philosophy (Licence ès Lettres) at the Sorbonne as a student of Jean-Francois Lyotard and Jacques Derrida. He returned to London and obtained a First Class Honours degree in Biochemistry (BSc) as a student of Prof. Lewis Wolpert and went on to qualify as a Doctor of Medicine (MB BS) at the Middlesex Hospital. He has authored scores of research publications in the major scientific research journals, principally on the role of the pituitary hormones ACTH and endorphin in pregnancy and parturition, and the pineal hormone melatonin in growth and puberty. He has also published articles on the social and ethical issues of medicine, and co-authored a political thriller "July 14 Assassination" (originally published by Jonathan Cape in the UK and William Morrow in the US). The book gave rise to a lengthy libel action with the French politician, Jacques Soustelle. Though the book was withdrawn during court proceedings, it was republished by the University of Nebraska Press with an extensive historical addendum on the accompanying libel action. Post retirement (from medicine) he became a theatre producer introducing Joan Rivers at the Edinburgh Festival then taking her into the West End of London (Theatre Royal Haymarket) and on a UK and Ireland tour. He has also produced Off-West End and at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, and the Beckett Theatre in New York. He has two patents granted by the US Patent and Trademark Office, “A Quality Filter for the Internet” (Patent: 7895202) and “Rewards for Unseen Website Activity” (Patent: 8311881). In 2016 he founded Doctors Club with a unique targeted messaging service and the aim of being the first Club Funding (as opposed to Crowd Funding) site on the web.
