Key proposals included making our Covid-19 economic stimulus climate-relevant, and a 5-year strategic work programme on climate, which led to sustainability becoming a key pillar of council’s Long-Term Plan 2021-2031.• Developed business case for sustainability framework to underpin council performance• Collated and delivered GHG footprint 2018-19, according to ISO 14064 and NZ carbonreduce. Subsequent Greenhouse gas (GHG) Management Plan, focused on wastewater, energy use and waste to landfill, setting reduction targets in line with NZ national GHG reduction targets• Built Energy Management System (ISO 50001), including Energy Management Plan and Energy Policy• Led series of workshops to identify climate risks and opportunities for city waters assets
