Leading the market engagement for Phase 2 at both strategic and tactical levels. Accountable for programme wide data reporting as well as delivering market sounding exercises to understand appetite within the supply chain to bid for and deliver HS2 packages. Responsible for organising and attending external supplier engagement events, delivering key-note presentations, Q&As and panel sessions.

Working within the Supply Chain team in the development, implementation and communication of Supply Chain activities across all potential suppliers and partners to engage with and prepare the industry for the scale of HS2 procurement and to position HS2 as the client of choice for suppliers in the rail and construction sectors. The analysis, interpretation and presentation of supply chain related data, testing appetite for direct procurements, facilitating information to potential suppliers (T1 and below) as well as attendance at external facing engagement events representing HS2 to external parties, including giving presentations and Q&A sessions.

On the Northern Line Extension Project I assembled the Works Information (WI). This involved editing the WI whilst maintaining traceability as well as proof reading and compiling for issue this significant part of the contract. I was responsible for delivering the Standstill Letters for the unsuccessful tenders.After 5 month on NLE I was requested to move to the Legacy Train Systems project due to the volume of commercial activity occurring. I created a database of current contracts for the project, which included a list of ‘pipeline’ projects, and have made sure these are compliant with TfL transparency regulations. I am also involved with two large early contractor involvement exercises, and am directly engaging with potential suppliers.

Brussels

Writing briefing notes for staff, précis of reports and European institution press releases, which were all circulated to a regional and national bi weekly mailing list. I also represented the office at conferences where I made notes, asked questions based on the office’s priorities and reported back to colleagues on the proceedings. Whilst in Brussels I also assisted researchers for an international report entitled The European Commission: Facing the Future, enter and interpret data along with preparing questionnaires, pre interview research and communication.
