This position is responsible for the enterprise network and all related servers. This includes network and systems design and implementation, design and implementation of enterprise systems security. Supervises network and systems administrators. Day to day oversight of all operation functions supporting all enterprise servers and campus networking. This is the top technical position in the ILS organization.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Leads, plans and oversees all Linux/Unix system administration and implementation.• Leads, plans and oversees all Windows system administration and implementation.• Leads, plans and oversees Network system administration and implementation.• Supervises network and systems administrators.• 3rd level user support and troubleshooting. Serves as the College’s leading expert in networking and systems issues.ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Participate in technology research, planning for and implementation of future technological directions and needs of the College.• Works with wide variety of hardware and software platforms and vendors, and maintains active network of relationships among other systems administrators in higher education and related fields.• Other duties as assigned by director.Required Skills and Experience• In-depth design, implementation and management expertise with Linux and Windows server operating systems, tcp/ip routing and networking and protocols, network and system security, wireless networking and storage area networks.• Experience troubleshooting multi-platform workstation hardware/software issues• Experience troubleshooting networking issues• Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to convey complex computing concepts effectively to non-technical users
