Archivist And Manager Of Publications
Current- Continue to uphold duties of Archivist position outlined below in addition to the following managerial responsibilities as they relate to the production of gallery publications:- Meet with Director of Publications, artists, graphic designers, project managers, and writers to facilitate overall concept and content of publications from initial phases of design through to publication- Serve as digital asset manager of all images related to publications. Gather archives from artists, organize files, ensure files are of print quality, and provide files to graphic designer throughout design process.- Meet with Director of Museums and Publications and graphic designer regularly to assist in editing and sequencing of publication imagery. - Secure image files and permissions for reproductions from non-SKNY artists from studios, galleries, institutions, and image reproduction agencies.- Ensure all image caption and credit information is correct and consistent throughout the design and editing process and that captions correctly correspond to images and plate and figure numbers. - Work with sales directors to compile list of important works from reproduction and reach out to collectors to obtain proper credit information.- Coordination with sales directors to compile list of important collectors and institutions to receive gratis copies of gallery publications and manage execution of said mailing.- Copy-editing of publication texts as needed.
