The focus of the role is to ensure that the capital requirements of the Group are met and that 'leading edge' financing is applied to the procurement of new rolling stock, buses, rail and bus depots, and other assets.Achievements:2024 - Completed the £66m financing of Bletchley Rail Depot with Porterbrook.2023 - Executed Management Buy-Out (MBO) for Abellio UK, now Transport UK Group. Completed the £50m financing of Tysekey Rail Depot with Angel Trains.2022 - New National Rail Contract entered into for Abellio East Midlands2021 - New National Rail Contracts entered into for West Midlands Trains and Abellio East Anglia. Completed £3.2m financing if new Hayes Bus Depot with NatWest Bank.2020 - Completed the £11m financing of Norwich Victoria Sidings with Equitix and £25m of Greater Anglia station asset financing with Lombard 2019 - Group turnover now €3.5 billion. Won the East Midlands franchise in the UK (£4.7 billion) from August. Completed the financing of £400m Hitachi rolling stock for East Midlands with Rock.2018 - Completed the £64m financing of Norwich Crown Point depot with Equitix. 2017 - won UK Rail West Midlands contract (£5.1 billion). Completed the financing of £700 million of Bombardier and CAF rolling stock for West Midlands with Infracapital & DWS.2016 - Re-won the Anglia contract in the UK (£9.3 billion). Financed £1.5 billion of Bombardier and Angel rolling stock for Anglia with Angel and Rock.2015 - Financed 380m new Hitachi trains for ScotRail with SMBC.2014 - Won the ScotRail tender in the UK (£5.9 billion), increasing Group turnover in 2015 to over €2 billion. Disposal of one further bus company in Germany.2013 - Successful disposal of three bus companies, two in Germany and one in Czech.2012 - Won Germany Bus bid: KVG, Saxony (€100 million).2011 - Won £1.7 billion Greater Anglia UK rail tender.

Finance Director consultancy, predominantly in the transport and support services sectors, with particular expertise at bidding successfully for large contracts in both the public and private sector. Clients included Abellio Group and Carillion plc. Achieved turnover of £293,000 during this period.Major achievement:2010 - helping Abellio Group win its first passenger rail tender in Germany: the €250 million RB47 (S7) contract

Helped lead this £460m turnover business, one of Serco Group’s fastest growing divisions, and its third largest at the time. The division was an IT services supplier made up of six businesses, three of which covered Local Government, one Central Government, one Private Sector and the other Western European agencies. Led a 75-strong finance/commercial/legal/procurement/network team.Achievements included:2006-2008: Delivery of significant change in a growth environment. Sales were £337m in 2006 and reached £460m in 2008, following major contract wins and organic growth. This is despite a major restructuring of the core IT business which included launching a new business strategy, UK job reductions of 600+ over 2 years, an off-shoring programme to India, severe cuts to all overhead functions, a property rationalisation programme and two significant supplier outsourcing transactions. 2007-2008: Implementation of SAP finance system across the division. Sponsored and led the implementation of SAP into the division in two separate ‘drops’. This involved working closely with Accenture and the Serco Group implementation team, selling the merits of the new system to the division’s 4,000 employees, many of whom were directly affected, and cajoling them to meet a series of very tight deadlines.
