I have worked at north coast for over six years as a licensed practical nurse. I have been responsible for providing a safe, therapeutic Milieu, while establishing trust and rapport with patients and families. I administer medications, take off medication and treatment orders, and facilitate education groups, and document compliance and effectiveness of medication and therapies as well as therapeutic interactions in 1:1 meeting and education groups.I have currently been reassigned to the Phlebotomy department. My duties consist of performing venipuncture need for blood specimens, using the proper technique and appropriate order of draw. I centrifuge, prepare, and document the specimens for transportation to the correct laboratory for analysis. I notify the correct doctor and charge nurse of testing not completed with explanation and document accordingly. I provide printed lab results to doctors, unit staff and pharmacists for review. I provide monthly surveillance data need for monthly quality improvement and infection control reports. I also reconcile monthly billing statement for accuracy.For the last three years I have assisted the Staff education department with training in American Heart Association CPR, annual Patient Engagement Training competencies, and the use of E-Lab Corp. I supply the training department with the required documentation and enter the data into Net Smart.

As a day shift charge nurse I was responsible for twenty nine medically fragile patients and seven staff and reported to the unit manager. I delegated nursing duties to other nurses and support staff. I was responsible for providing a safe environment, while establishing trust and rapport with the patients and family. I administered medications, took off medication and treatment orders, completed complex medical treatment regimens, and facilitated patient and family education. I provided documentation of compliance and effectiveness of the medications and therapies with a focus on pain management, change in mental status or physical health, wound healing and bowel routines. Daily I would update the treatment team on the medical condition of each client.
