Independent advisor to (re) insurance businesses with a focus on strategic business development, executive mentoring and account management. My recent experience at Lloyd's gives me a unique insight into that market and in particular the development of new businesses and new business initiatives.I have retired from Lloyd's after nearly 13 years and am now starting on the next chapter of my life. This will include continuing my work as a governor at Manorfield Primary School in Tower Hamlets and a few more cruises to various parts of the world. I have established RAS Advisory Ltd so that I can provide consultancy and advice to (re)insurance businesses who value my input based on more than 40 years experience gained in the UK, USA and Switzerland with AIG, Zurich Insurance and Lloyd's.

I initially joined Lloyd's as one of 3 joint Head's of Underwriting Performance in 2005 before moving to the role of Head of Relationship Management in 2007 which more recently became Stakeholder Management & Development and has now been absorbed into the more broadly defined - Business Development.Notable responsibilities included leading Lloyd's approach to the attraction and development of new entrants, being an active member of Lloyd's Capital & Planning Group and most recently laying the foundation for a new approach to account management at Lloyd's.

Initially headed a unit within Zurich Re providing reinsurance solutions to Zurich Group companies. Repositioned Group Reinsurance as the global manager of Zurich's ceded reinsurance strategy together with Risk and Exposure Management after the spin-off of Zurich Re's third party reinsurance operations as Converium.

Led the development of Zurich American's reinsurance programmes following the acqusition of business and underwriting capability from Home Insurance. Subsequently consolidated the reinsurance strategies of Zurich's operations in North America before taking up the role of Chief Group Reinsurance Officer at Zurich Re in Switzerland.

SVP for Reinsurance until transaction with Zurich that saw Home Insurance placed into run-off and many of Home's staff join Zurich North America. Upon closure of the transaction I joined Zurich North America as SVP Reinsurance.Home's largest asset was its reinsurance recoverables and given its perilous financial state it was highly reliant on reinsurance,the key to this role was ensuring that Home had effective reisnruance in place and recovered as close to 100% of the reinsurance asset as possible.
