Full Stack development in the Neo4j Aura team, working on the Aura console. Some highlights:- Building out the GCP integration layer for Neo4j Aura, leading to a first party entry in the Google Cloud Platform sidebar (Partner Solutions > Neo4j Aura Professional Database-as-a-Service)- Leading the first engineering cycle for implementing Neo4j Aura Enterprise- Maintaining the Aura Console SPA and associated web server, liasing with multiple product stakeholders to priotise and implement new features- Leading or contributing to various subteams on a 6-weekly sprint cadence

One half of the web team, eventually becoming the lead developer for the flagship company product MAKE and covering the API and related products. Jukedeck had a strong engineering culture, with an agile product cycle that used fortnightly sprints, product retros and TDD. Pairing was very common in the engineering team to promote knowledge sharing, especially at product interfaces. Regular tasks included:- Continually refactoring an older, patternless server codebase into an MVC-like architecture- Improving an SPA client, which had a number of custom components - tasks involved integrating the Web Audio API into new features in the product, and transitioning to a Redux architecture (away from Flux)- Extending the Jukedeck API and ancillary services, a layer of Node.js, RabbitMQ and Mongo that interfaces to the music generation stack written in C++ and Python- Updating content on the company website, including custom integrations with Soundcloud and WorkableTechnologies: React/Flux/Redux, Javascript+Webpack, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Docker, AWS EC2/ECS, Elasticsearch, Mocha+Chai, Selenium

At Plan Blue I was a core member of the engineering team, leading development on new products and occasionally mentoring newer members of the team. The team was responsible for developing and maintaining a number of products, including an OpenRTB bidder, ad players and internal tools.- Maintained the Node.js bidding engine, a bare-metal based web service that processed billions of ad requests every day with less than 100ms latency- Wrote an OpenRTB auction server in NGINX/Lua, with customised unit testing based on the busted library- Used Lua/C modules and decision trees to extend an NGINX proxy server and reduce load on the backend by a factor of 10x, with a typical response accuracy of > 99.9%- Designed and deployed a custom stats counting pipeline that reduced return-to-base latency by 5xTechnologies: Node.js, Express, Postgres, Redis, NGINX+Lua+C, protobuf, HTML5 video, ETL/Data processing

At Telemetry I was a member of the engineering team, working on products related to forensic capability and report generation. CSF Software was a micro-scale development house predominantly focussed on long-term contract work. The size of the business required me to be proactive and self-directed in my day to day activities. Nstein technologies (formerly Picdar Inc.) provided digital asset management solutions. I joined as a member of the Java engineering team responsible for maintaining and developing the core product offering. Highlights include:- Took on the responsibility of marrying the Nstein text mining engine with the core asset management platform in an attempt to categorise image captions in real time- Writing a custom XSLT-based migration to port a new customer over from a legacy system, whilst simultaneously parsing manually entered picture metadata into a structured format- Maintaining and improving the flagship product, a Java Enterprise-based content management system written using the Java Front Controller pattern and backed by MySQL and the Lucene search engine- Writing and maintaining Servlets, and corresponding JSP pages and javascript to control form element behaviour- Various CSS fixes and tweaks as required to maintain legacy browser support in a graceful degradation patternTechnologies: Java Servlets/JSP, Apache Tomcat, Postgres, MySQL, XSLT, WSDL, Javascript, HTML, CSS
