Fusion offers students the opportunity to learn on their terms, on their schedule, and in their learning style focusing on the whole child.Recent Highlights: Under his leadership during the 2020-2021 school year, Fusion Academy Buckhead received Fusion's National Awards for Exceptional Re-Enrollment, High Stewardship Growth, Exemplary Parent Loyalty, and Outstanding Team Engagement. For the 2021-2022 school year, he led the school to win awards again for Exceptional Re-Enrollment, Exceptional Stewardship Growth, Exemplary Parent Loyalty, and Robert's favorite award-Outstanding Team Engagement. In addition, he helped the school add a first-time campus award for Exceptional Enrollment Growth due to the schools’s fast growth from the previous year, winning five out of six potential awards given to the top qualifying campuses.For the 2022-2023 school year, Fusion Academy Buckhead received an award for the Highest Revenue Growth out of the 80+ Fusion campuses around the nation.

Recent Highlights: • Selected as The 2019-2020 APS Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year. Nominated as one of the top three Assistant Principal Finalists for APS district-wide Assitant Principal of the year.• Accepted into the 2019-2020 APS Aspiring Principal Program to enhance skills, experiences, and competencies to take on the next level of leadership in APS•Chosen by the district’s Chief of Academics to train APS School-based Leadership Teams on data-driven and instructional planning best practices in literacy during district PLCs. • Highlighted and designated by the Human Resources Department in 2019 and 2020 to present best practices in hiring and talent management

Under the leadership of the Associative Superintendent, supported schools in the district by assessing their instructional effectiveness as it relates to student achievement and teacher quality. Provided school-level support in analyzing student assessment data, facilitating professional development, and implementing instructional practices based on the data. Also, supported schools in understanding how to strategically achieve growth on the state’s College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI).

Highlights: • 2012-2013 Teacher of the Year• Ensured academic success and growth on yearly CRCT examinations and had the highest student growth in the district for two years in a row. Coan Middle School was highlighted in the AJC for having the highest student growth in the district for middle schools. • Local School Council Member • Co-Founder of Coan Middle School’s Green Group which built the school’s first community garden to help promote interest in life sciences through horticulture. Received recognition from city officials, including Mayor Kasim Reed• Advisor to Coan Middle School’s first STEM club • Developed and executed daily/weekly lesson plans to ensure student learning through hands-on problem-based cases created as Emory’s PRISM program fellow member.

• Based on value-added scores, the district’s top teachers were chosen to improve the benchmark exams by participating in this assessment development program• Teachers were trained and required to develop and/or revise items for their assigned subject/content area/grade level. Also develop and/or revise assessment forms per test blueprints

Selected to be a part of the demonstration project that showcases Atlanta Public School teachers who possess strong content knowledge, demonstrate a strong grasp of the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards and effectively utilize research-based instructional practices to provide engaging, rigorous standards-based instruction to all students.
