About Robert Strouse

I make things that people want to use. I have a deep conviction that in order to make products, services and experiences that resonate with people, I need to understand both their perspective and their work. I employ a variety of systematic research methods derived from both Cognitive Systems Engineering and Design Research to accomplish these aims. I investigate, identify, document and advocate for the end user’s needs throughout the planning, design and development process of both digital and physical products. I plan, conduct and analyze validation tests (Usability, Accessibility, Feasability) for digital or physical products with relevant stakeholders. I generate documents and artifacts (Use Cases, User Personas, Scenarios, Network Diagrams, Task Flows, Wireframes, Sitemaps, Paper Prototypes, Static Digital Prototypes, Dynamic Digital Prototypes, Physical Prototypes, 3D CAD Prototype Models, 3D Printed Prototypes) to represent, identify and communicate User Requirements to our development team. I have been on teams responsible for submitting 33 disclosures in less than three years, with approximately one-quarter resulting in intellectual property for NCH. In addition, I also compose sections for grant proposals and coauthoring peer-reviewed academic papers and presentations.
