I am a non-Executive Director and Chair of the Risk Committee of Bank of Valletta plc. This bank is the largest bank in Malta with a market share of approximately 45% and is one of the significant banks in the Euro area and thus directly supervised by the ECB/MFSA.

The latter is a private company listed on the Malta Stock Exchange and its mission is to develop and manage immovable property, with a focus on national strategic real-estate projects. The current portfolio of projects include the development of the New Parliament Building of Malta and an open-air theatre

I was manager EU Affairs and reporting directly to the CEO. I was in charge of the EU Unit and the Work Permits Unit. I was also project leader for several EU funded projects. I also advised the Maltese Government on various EU legislation falling within ETC's remit (employment and migration). I represented and negotiated on behalf of ETC, the Ministry for Employment and Malta in various EU fora, such as the Council of Ministers. I was also a member of the EU Advisory and Technical Committee on the free movement of workers. I was also a member of the EU Employment Committee Ad-Hoc Group.

Allied Ttravel services was Malta’s largest outgoing travel agency. I was directly responsible for the day-to-day management of company subsidiary. I was in charge of planning & organising tours, drafting tour programmes/sales brochures, circulars to clients. I was also responsible for recruiting, training and supervising team of tour leaders. I also supervised and co-ordinated the work of sales and administration staff on a day-to-day basis.

I drafted various documents related to my area of expertise for the official publications of the Central Bank. I also drafted reports & background papers for management for monthly monetary policy meeting & investment policy meeting, IMF/World Bank/EBRD annual meetings. I also advised on decisions related to international financial institutions (IMF/World Bank/EBRD). I was also the Central Bank’s representative on various committees on European Union matters. I was also secretary of the Banking Supervision Task Force responsible for transposing EU and international banking regulations into Maltese legislation. I was also responsible for public relations.
