Led the development of the UK and Ireland FIFA 2030 World Cup, building a coalition of 5 football associations, and multiple government and devolved government agencies. Secured UK govt. support for the Bid including £550m funding commitment to English community sports facilities.

Wembley Stadium

A wide ranging role leading both the Strategy and Communications functions at The Football Association working directly to the Chairman and CEO. The role starts with the development, planning, measurement and review of the FA's Strategic and Business Plans supported by an award winning Research and Insight team. It incorporates the operational leadership of major projects including a £30m+ annual capital investment into grassroots facilities; senior management responsibility for international relations and development work; safeguarding in football; diversity and inclusion; and off-field international tournament preparation and co-ordination. On the communications side I led one of the country's highest profile and scrutinised media teams. Delivering pro-active multi-platform campaigns around assets and brands such as England and The FA Cup. Managing an intense corporate communications/crisis comms environment through a range of media relations and opinion former/influencer engagement. Highlight of the time was succesfully reconnecting the England team with the nation during World Cup 2018.

Leading the National Governing Body’s Strategy and corporate affairs team to deliver strategic and business planning support to the Chairman and Chief Executive on a range of domestic and international corporate, sport and public policy issues. Development the organisation's first ever four year Strategic Plan ensuring buy in and support from a range of internal and external stakeholders. Secured and managed public funding into the organisation alongside wider Government Relations programme. This included successfully securing public funding for key projects such as the National Football Centre and the near doubling of public investment into grassroots facilities. Programme management lead on a number of key strategic projects working directly into the Chairman and Chief Executive including the England Commission; 2010 Youth Development Review; post 2018 World Cup Bid International Strategy Review; ongoing corporate governance reform.
