Rob Sutherland is a Partner in KPMG's Advisory Services Practice. Rob has over thirty years of experience with KPMG assisting clients with infrastructure development, restructuring, business planning and corporate finance. The past 12 years have been primarily dedicated to infrastructure related projects. He has advised public sector clients in Canada and the US on all facets of infrastructure development including strategy, procurement and finance, and asset management in a wide range of sectors including: Roads, Airports, Ports, Marine Ferry Services, Shipbuilding, Gaming, Healthcare, Schools, Natural Gas Distribution. In addition Rob has led KPMG teams in undertaking due diligence associated with the acquisition of infrastructure assets by Canadian pension funds primarily in the US and South America in a number of sectors including: Toll Roads, Water Utilities, Ports, and Electricity Utilities. Rob most recently acted as COO of KPMG’s Global Government and Infrastructure practice. In this role he played an integral part in the further development of KPMG’s Global Infrastructure Practice service offering across the infrastructure asset lifecycle including strategy, procurement and finance, investment, operations, and asset management. In relation to KPMG’s public sector practice Rob assisted with the establishment KPMG Centres of Excellence in the areas of Justice and Security, Defense, Human and Social Services, Cities, International Development, Education and Finance and Treasury.
