Reduced wire kit drawings from 60 to one allowing common parts and wire kit configurations to be readily recognized. Implemented Production Status board to track parts being processed. This allowed status of all in-process units to be instantly recognized, and also identified all units in rework and MRB.

Production Manager: Responsible for the Structure portion of the space expandable devices. Reviewed designs for production readiness, insuring that struts were fabricated per schedule. Implemented lean practices and improved production proficiency. Part of the ISO certification team that worked with auditors to ensure compliance. Set up standard work in the strut fabrication area and reduced the lead time from 6 to 3 weeks.

Lean Coordinator: 2001-2002. Responsible for driving lean production practices throughout the company. Lead over 20 lean (Kaizen) events. Obtained Master Black Belt in Standard Work and 5S. Set up 2-bin Kanban (JIT) system that allowed 5 inventory turns per year, Used Value Stream Mapping to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in production.Production Manager: 1998-2001. Managed the TVSS portion of the business. This included reporting to the CEO of operations, using Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to drive process improvements with monthly report outs; managing 40 operators, four production leads, two machinists and one manufacturing engineer.Production Supervisor: 1996-1998. Supervised the change over from batch production to single-piece flow production on the TVSS product lines. This effort reduced Finished Goods inventory from over $100K to less than $10K, improved Lead Times from 6 weeks to 2 days, and improved On-Time Delivery from 66% to 93%. This effort took eighteen months.Production Cell Lead: 1995-1996. Responsible for three production cells that included manpower scheduling and producing to customer demands.
