Check documentation to ensure the correct material is received into the appropriate… Show more • to operate the Goldie Process, this includes: processing of Lyle’s Golden Syrup and Lyle’s Pouring Syrup, supplying syrups & treacle to the packaging lines and operating the bulk tanker loading station. Working a standard three-shift pattern. • ensure that high standards of safety, hygiene, environmental and discipline are consistently met.• control of all process input lines, both syrup & chemical. Check documentation to ensure the correct material is received into the appropriate location.• loading of bulk tankers & treacle returns.• thorough knowledge of the dangers of bulk chemicals (acid, salt, carbon, soda, filteraid, resin) and the associated product and environmental risks.• measure brix, colour, pH, ash, hardness, pol. Filter & visually check all syrup products on site. Test for Sulphite, Phosphate, Alkalinity, Phenolphthalein, dip slide, Bromine biocide reserves & conductivity.• maintain process, hygiene and calibration records.• control 3 OPRP. Control of reporting QA and final release of all syrup products.• record and maintain accurate records for audit purposes.• control of retained retail pack samples and customer bulk samples, for traceability exercises.• hourly control of resin cells, inversion, neutralisation, Funda filtration, and decolourisation of the syrup. Control LGS & LPS evaporation and all other parts of the Goldie Process, as required.• thorough knowledge of all syrup packing lines on site for hygiene, routing of lines & trouble shooting.• thorough knowledge of all areas of the site (boiler/utilities/packing) for routine testing, investigation & trouble shooting.• sample and maintain water quality and records for cooling tower, steam boilers and water softeners. • liaise with SHHEQ manager, Engineering manager, & Packing manager.• meet or exceed target for Goldie shift production Show less
