Technical Consulting Director
CurrentI am excited to announce I have joined Computer Modelling Group in the capacity of Technical Consulting Director. In this role I will be working with CMG’s consulting team and its clients on optimizing design of hydraulic fracturing treatments using an integrated system of fracturing and reservoir modelling.CMG reservoir simulation software greatly advances our ability to properly model post fracturing production by incorporating the phase behaviour of reservoir fluids and the resulting relative permeability curves. This provides much more accurate modelling of production and an enhanced workflow for design of future treatments over fracture modelling alone. It also provides valuable insights into best production practices related to maintenance of optimum bottom hole flowing pressure. Enhanced fracturing treatment design and production practices support increased overall asset profitability. We will be providing training as well as consulting support in this enhanced modelling workflow. In addition, we will provide familiarization with many basic fracturing design skills typically taught in introductory & advanced fracturing treatment schools. These include DFIT, Limited Entry, Step Down, and Log analyses, as well as discussion of perforation strategy, fluid rheology, and fracturing fluids types, strengths, and weaknesses. The overall objective of this training is to provide an easy to use workflow which increases success and profitability.I bring to this role 42 years of industry experience as a recognized expert in fracturing and acidizing treatment design and economic optimization of production assets. I hold 31 patents and have presented 16 technical papers at SPE conferences in addition to numerous other presentations and chairing opportunities at commercial technical conferences. I am a past President of the Chemical Profession of Alberta and a registered professional in Alberta.
