CurrentBob Taylor founded Bob Taylor Engineering, Inc. [BTE] in December 1981 serving St. Mary's, Charles, Calvert, and Prince George's County in Maryland. The prime function of the company is soil and concrete testing per American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) standards. BTE technicians are certified by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) and the Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Program (MARTCP), and the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) programs. CONCRETE TESTING: conducts on site sampling and inspection of job sites, field reports, compressive strength testing for concrete test specimens, laboratory mix design, laboratory curing facility management with certified, calibrated compression test machine.SOILS TESTING: conducts on site inspections of job sites, field reports, construction supervision, laboratory as well as visual testing and inspection for soils classification and sieve analysis, in-place field density testing, soils analysis for compliance with construction specifications.COMPANY/CLIENT LIAISON: arranges and conducts pre-construction investigations, preparespreliminary designs, composes estimates and/or proposals, maintains verbal as well as written communication with various residential, commercial and governmental agencies.CERTIFIED TECHNICAL STAFF: BTE has certified technicians on staff for MDE Water Quality, Nuclear Gauge, SHA Traffic Control, SHA Soils, SHA Lab, SHA Asphalt, ACI Field-1, and NRMC Pervious Concrete. Technicians are certified by the American Concrete Institute, Maryland Department of the Environment, Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Program, and the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory programs.
