Profile bio

About Robert Teitelbaum

I’m a San Francisco-based interaction designer with over 15 years of experience in a variety of settings: transactional, conceptual, and sales work on mobile platforms, desktop, and ATM/touch interfaces. I aim for an intuitive, less-is-more simplicity where users can achieve their goals without being hindered by the design. I would describe my work and process as deliberate, researched, and thoughtful: everything has a reason behind it, and everything is thought through. The resulting design is so important to me – the content, the visuals, and of course, the interaction. What I enjoy most is when I can bring these efficient, logical experiences to users in a manner they just see as, simple.Specialities: User experience, mobile design, information architecture, interaction design, usability testing, user-centered design, user research, content strategy, rapid prototyping

Listed skills include Information Architecture, User Experience, Interaction Design, User Interface Design, and 11 others.

Interaction Designer

Aaa

During my time in the User Experience group at AAA, I worked with our product managers to help bring their business goals to the user, carry out research to understand/discover trends, design the wireframes, and perform user testing where applicable. I worked closely with the other disciplines in the UE group – visual, copy, and front-end – to make sure our deliverables were on time and as good as possible, and also worked with both our content management team and developers.I also performed a number of other roles in my position: I set up a style guide wiki that the entire UE group could access, wireframed baseline documentation for the entire AAA site, created an entire library of patterns that our group used in InDesign, worked on taxonomy for our new VIA site, and more.

Sep 2007 - Apr 2010

Interface Lead

I spent 4 years at Wells Fargo designing their ATM interface. I was fortunate to be there for the complete redesign of the interface from 2005-2007, which included not only an entirely new and dynamic shift in the screenflows, but also the rebuilding of the platform in Windows Presentation Foundation. Being an early-adapter of this new software was an exciting challenge, and to this day I'm very proud of all the work and success we achieved. My work included designing transaction flows, creating all of the visual design assets and animations, managing all of the text and localization duties, working on marketing graphics and ad campaigns, and also designing a new in-house software application to create, manage, and catalogue all of the ATM screens and project documentation.
