Senior Heritage Planner
Following Locus's merger with Marrons, I have kept a similar role, with a developer led focus on sustainable and responsible development. In addition to actively pursuing clients and contracts, I am particularly concentrating on streamlining our reports to minimize irrelevant or superfluous information, and focus on the issues and impacts that are directly relevant to the project, and create a thorough, but hyper focused product for our clients. . My general day to day job has evolved from the background of report production to focussing on impacts and mitigation to heritage assets, including both archaeological remains and listed structures, as well as the complicated issues of setting.
Senior Heritage Consultant
Working with a variety of clients drawn from the public, private and third sectors, I was immediately drawn to Locus through a shared passion for sustainable place shaping, and responsible development. In this role, I was able to draw on my experience in California, to aid me in relearning much of British heritage law and policy to aid me in my everyday role. My day to day role included background research, site visits, and impact analyses for heritage documents, primarily DBAs, HIAs, and HAAs, which I have both produced solely, and as part of a team. I liase with archaeological officers and HER offices to gain background information for projects, for use in report production.I am fully conversant in archaeological, built environment, and setting constraints, and have conducted archaeological site visits, building surveys, and both wide landscape and intimate setting analyses. Throughout this job, I have worked to cultivate a good relationship with both clients and archaeological officers to be able to deliver a product that is satisfactory to the client, and is sensitive to local concerns, meeting NPPF and CIfA policy and guidelines.
Director Of Cultural Resources
As Director of Cultural Resources, I worked on building a cultural team, and expanding the existing cultural quals of MIG whilst developing the business. I worked closely with our tribal and cultural landscapes specialists to provide a cultural service not just based around CEQA, but to incorporate cultural resources earlier in the stage of development, in the design process adding to MIG's unique qualifications in the design world.

Senior Archaeologist
As an archaeological lead at MIG, I worked extensively with both CEQA and NEPA based Cultural projects and was fully conversant with the CEQA and NEPA processes.Initially brought on as a junior member of staff, I worked my way up to the being the lead archaeologist at MIG and founded the Cultural department, where I was personally responsible for hiring a small cultural team of direct reports. My experience at MIG included writing cultural based technical documents, such as Cultural Resource Evaluations and Section 106 reports, as well as advising clients on AB52 tribal consultation responsibilities, and other legal responsibilities under NHPA. Clients I have worked with at MIG have included: government agencies, private developers, and construction companies.Prior to my employment as an archaeologist, the company tendered out these assessments to subconsultants. I personally furthered MIG by being able to fulfill these jobs in-house, as well as having actively sought out projects though networking and attending pre-bid meetings with potential clients and by working to increase the environmental services offered.Core Consultancy Responsibilities:• Writing and researching archaeological technical documents (Phase I Assessments/Cultural Resource Evaluations, Section 106, Constraints Analyses, and Archaeological Monitoring Compliance Reports).• Assisting clients with AB52 consultation.• Advising clients as to their duties and responsibilities under State and Federal regulation (CEPA/NEPA, NHPA, ARPA).• Writing CEQA sections in EIRs, ISs, and CEs.• Writing NEPA sections in EIAs, EAs, and CatExs.• Responding to RFPs and writing scopes of for cultural projects.• Overseeing junior staff on historical research.• Overseeing site staff and subconsultant archaeologists.• Hiring on-call field archaeologists and cultural staff• Using ArcGIS for graphics creation, data queries, mapping cultural resources, data manipulation, and planning.
