Land Surveyor - Instrumentman
CurrentAs an Instrumentman for a land surveying company I worked all aspects of survey projects, including field data collection with either conventional survey instruments or GPS, reconnaissance for H/V control or property corner evidence, field stakeout of proposed routes or future construction, and technical support as needed. I operate the following land surveying equipment: Trimble Robotics, Trimble GPS, Topcon Instrucment, and Trimble VRS. My project experience includes: National Habor, Boulevard at the Capital Center, Bowie Town Center, Ryderwood Village, and ICC.My duties include working primarily in the field on control, topographic surveys, and pipeline surveys on a two or three-person field crew; cutting and removing brush and undergrowth for line of sight; performing mathematical calculations and field checking of field data; read and understood plans and specifications; have basic knowledge of land surveying units of measurements and sources of measurement errors; dug ground using a pick, shovel and other hand tools to search for and locate survey monuments; used plumb rod in obtaining elevations and distances; drove stakes to set grades on construction projects, and peformed other duties as assigned.
