Fulfill role as Safety Department Representative (SDR) on semi-submersible drilling platforms (MODU) in both Gulf of Mexico (GOM) and international locations. As a flight paramedic (rotor wing), provide and perform prehospital care for emergent responses and provide critical care skills for interfacilty transfers. These duties are conducted with flight nurse (RN) as part of air medical crew. Conduct daily safety meetings / briefings at start of shift.As Assistant Program Manger, act in the position of program manager to include all duties thereof with emphasis on daily program activities. This also includes yearly budget (marketing and education) design and implementation. During plant fire / medical / hazardous material responses, act as the Incident Commander, assuming the responsibility for mediating the emergency and the safety of all personnel (plant and ERT). Assist in the training of seventy-two member ERT for all responses and documentation of this training. Provide guidance to plant personnel as related to all OSHA, DOT, EPA, and NFPA safety codes. Trained and assist plant personnel with industrial hygiene (IH), to include noise surveys, benzene monitoring, and organic vapor monitoring, In addition, generate the bi-weekly schedule for the department, which includes the tracking of all training and vacation. Maintain and troubleshoot the plant’s alarm system and work with contractor in maintaining plant’s 800 MHz radio trucking system. Track and maintain records for plant personnel on monthly safety meetings. In 2001 – 2003, presented training seminar on ERT training at the OSHA Region VI Conference. Member of Chevron Phillips Corporate Worldwide Haz-Mat Response Team. In the position of plant EMS Coordinator, responsible for the training and documentation of twenty-five EMT’s (basic – intermediate – paramedic). This includes the tracking of CE’s and the scheduling of all continuing education classes. Also, in conjunction with the plant’s Medical Director, conduct an annual review and update of EMS protocols. Conduct quarterly QI meetings with Medical Director on EMS responses as done by CPChem EMS. Maintain, order, and restock supplies as needed for ambulance and stock. Teach and document, as required by OSHA, CPR to plant’s Electrical Department. Also, conduct quarterly CPR classes that are open to plant personnel and their family members. As part of CPR, assisted with the buying and maintaining of five AED’s (LifePak 500) by operating units.
