I evaluate and improve research and research systems. My work makes science more trustworthy, reproducible, open, and efficient. I work with foundations, funders, and start-ups to help ensure their decisions and investments are evidence-based. My experience spans the behavioral sciences, cognitive neuroscience, psychology, neurotech, and medicine. I led the development of standards for research design and reporting in the field of neurofeedback, published a book to improve brain imaging research, and chaired a consensus process that updated the standards for how more than 20,000 psychology undergraduates learn data skills and statistics each year. I have published extensively about how to improve scientific research and was awarded the 2022 Open Science Innovator Prize from the Center for Open and Reproducible Science at Stanford University.My professional mission is to improve scientific research to foster evidence-based decision making and drive social impact.
