Succession planning is a key responsibility to any business and as such I was asked to accept the role of CEO. The excitement and prospects of developing and using my experience to gain further success both personally and collectively is a challenge and a responsibility that I continue to enjoy. The values that are within the name See Ltd are to Support Ethical Enterprise and I am sure these will guide myself and my colleagues to focus on these principles, that are very much embodied in the culture and history of our Group.This culture has focused my attention to the recognition and responsibility that we all have in reducing our Carbon Footprint for today and future generations.I am, along with my colleagues, working towards our businesses becoming Carbon Neutral, and I believe this is possible and necessary, and can be achieved whilst remaining a profitable and successful group of companies.

I was asked to set up a new business alongside my immediate responsibilities within Panelock and this was to manage and develop a company that would identify innovative and advanced materials, that would be inspirational both by their aesthetics and performance. These products and solutions would therefore need to relevant to the A and D community. This business continues on this journey and I am still very much involved in its development.

Joining the company as a Commercial Trainee I experienced all levels of the business including a significant and valuable time on the shop floor. The scope of being involved in all elements of the business gave me a real insight into the interaction and the added value of a team approach from employees across the business.Having enjoyed this time immensely I was able to see more clearly how my decisions and that of others have a real influence on the health, vitality and success of the business.My career led me to eventually be appointed as Managing Director to the company and we had many years of success with a genuine focus directed to all employees, customers and suppliers, which for the most part forms a social interaction that powers the business.
