I am Director Defence in Turner and Townsend's UK Defence leadership team, and I bring over 30 years of multi-sector experience to bear in this role. I provide leadership, advice and delivery partnering expertise to major defence industry clients, within Turner and Townsend's major framework support to MoD and large defence prime contractors. In an increasingly varied and unstable world, our team is in demand to help the UK government and defence industry deliver some of the most complex and sensitive programmes ever developed, and to make the step change required to meet schedule, budget and critical capability outcomes. I am proud to be able to continue helping transform and deliver some of the world's most impactful programmes.I bring the knowledge and experience of an 18 year global military engineering career, including command on operations and significant policy and planning roles both in UK MoD and in NATO. There followed a 15 year period in delivering complex public infrastructure, major construction contracting and delivering programmes for major defence clients. This includes a detailed exposure to governmental funding processes, securing a £1.5Bn control period plan for a part of the UK rail network and UK Treasury funding to a large sensitive defence programme. I am also experienced in the challenges of maintaining, renewing and delivering public infrastructure, and I bring an extensive understanding of working in sensitive environments.I have more recently enabled the UK MoD to recover the performance of a major national programme vital to the security of the UK, as well as advise other large defence primes on their sensitive programme development and delivery.As a military veteran, I continue to support and help a variety of agencies and re-settling veterans on their lives and careers, and as with previous roles, I play an active role in sustaining our Armed Forces Covenant and our ongoing SSAFA corporate friendship, as part of Turner and Townsend's military network.
