Senior Director of a highly qualified team that manages computer infrastructure for STCC. We have 450 Faculty/Staff and 8,000 Students. My goal is to keep STCC as close to the top of the technological curve as possible while maintaining stability and functionality to provide students with an experience similar to what they should expect in business and industry. We have just implemented Cisco Unified Communications, a new Security System, Campus-wide wireless, Server Virtualization, Desktop Virtualization and Disaster Recovery. We recently implemented a Campus Portal and Mobile Device Management as well as a large-scale VDI solution using VMware Horizon View. Mobility, accessibility to information and Virtualization of lab devices are key areas of interest to us to prepare students for transition to industry.My goal at STCC is to deliver the WOW that I once experienced as a Technical Community College student in 1981 when the IBM PC was introduced. We need to be presenting a learning environment that is leading edge, organized and configured to prepare students to thrive in today's technological world. This is not done by taking an "If it is not broke, don't fix it." mentality. It is accomplished by keeping the latest technology in front of the students so they have the proper tools to bring to their employer. Manage IT projects and day-to-day operations at UTAS (Hamilton Sundstrand). Managed Infrastructure Projects for Documentum Upgrade, Network and Wiring Refreshes, Data Center Power Upgrades, Department Moves and Server Refreshes. Managed remote access for employees (Cisco VPN) and contractors (Aventail). Managed 300+ server data center operations including power, network, telcomm, UPS and generator backup.
