  Robert Tugander dedicates his practice to complex insurance coverage litigation.For about two decades, Rob has represented and advised insurers on a broad range of coverage matters – from historic manufactured gas plant operations to emerging issues such as global climate change – in state and federal courts and in arbitrations across the country.Most recently, Rob has concentrated on complex environmental claims arising from oil and gas exploration and production and from power generation activities. His recent cases have involved environmental contamination and toxic exposure arising from pipeline leaks, toppled offshore platforms, well blowouts, coal ash storage, tire fires, the use of gasoline additives, and asbestos. Rob also has substantial experience in counseling insurers on coverage issues arising from intellectual property and business tort claims.A member of the American Bar Association, Rob has published several articles on insurance matters, including the insurance implications arising from cybercrimes, the subprime mortgage and global credit crisis, the dishonesty and personal profit exclusions, the apportionment of liabilities between insureds and insurers, and other issues arising from complex insurance litigation. He co-authored a chapter in the New Appleman Insurance Law Practice Guide entitled “Understanding Multiple Insurer Situations.” Rob also is co-editor of The Reference Handbook on the Commercial General Liability Policy, published by the ABA and released in its second edition in 2014.Rivkin Radler's Insurance Coverage Practice Group since 2016 has been included in the Chambers USA directory in the Insurance: Dispute Resolution: Insurer category. In addition, the group is included in the 2016 Best’s Directory of Recommended Insurance Attorneys.
