About Robert Turner
I am a Human Resources executive with 40 years of direct HR experience. I have also successfully completed numerous consulting assignments in several industries domestically and globally. I have made numerous presentations at business and HR conferences on various topics. I was honored by the National Human Resources Association (NHRA) with their highest recognition of accomplishment with their Human Resources Executive of the Year award for Los Angeles in 2016. The majority of that time was spent as a direct line executive managing staff of up to 160 employees with employee populations from a few hundred to over 33,00 active employees.When I retired from active executive management, I was approached by the University of Southern California (USC) to help them build and teach in their HR MBA program for working professionals. I was an Associate Adjunct Professor at the university until I was promoted to Full Professor in 2019. Subsequently, I was also selected to join the lecturing staff at the College of Business at California State University, Long Beach, where I teach both graduate and undergraduate classes on a part-time basis. I also continue to be active in the consulting arena. I have held roles assisting with HR executive transitions as interim VP of HR, building and developing HR teams for higher performance and more professional functionality in support of executive management. This has included initiating and overseeing executive searches for VPs of HR, senior HR department management, and other management executives. I have overseen executive searches for a variety of executive businesses at several organizations in differing industries. My most recent consulting assignments have been as interim VP of HR, Executive Coach, and transition team leader.Additionally, after retiring from the nation's largest medical insurance management organization, LA Care, I have been actively involved with consulting in the field of HR and Executive development and coaching. I have partnered with colleagues to provide a number of HR services, from startups to executive development to executive transition,Given my hands-on executive line management experience of over 40 years, my extensive leadership coaching and development experience as a consultant and coach, coupled with several years as a university professor teachings, I am highly confident in my abilities to identify problems, solve them, and develop staff and management to identify and correct small issues before they become disruptive to the organization.
